Look ahead and know what you are dealing with. Stop at the line and not too far back. Remember the car behind is expecting you to stop at the line. Have a good look around as you move away. Watch out for bikes moving round you.

When approaching any crossing check your mirrors. You will need to know what is behind you and how close. This will help you make the decision to stop or go if the light becomes solid amber. The law says you must stop for an amber if you can do so safely.
