The examiner will be watching to see you are aware of what is happening around you. If you have not seen it how can you react to it. They should be used before any change of speed and or direction.

They may do this a number of ways:

• Using an instructors eye mirror if fitted
• Moving the whole of the passenger seat back so the driver is forward of them
• By moving the angle of the seat back so they can see the driver
• By turning in the seat so they can see the driver and the road

They will be trained to watch you without prompting you. Use your mirrors as you would normally. To over exaggerate the check will make it conspicuous when it is missed.
